SUNDAY, Hubby and I attended the wedding of Martha Arzu and Damian McIntosh. Martha and I met a few years ago at work. She was new to the area and we hit it off as soon as we met. We have been friends ever since. I met Damian in the last few years and he is such a mild mannered man. Very calm and cool, but filled with energy and strength especially when it comes to his Trinidad heritage. Martha too has a very unique heritage from Guatemala where she is Garifuna. This union was special because the cultural significance of both families was ever present at every detail of the wedding.
.
They met, fell in love, bought a house, had a beautiful son and got married (not necessarily in that order). The wedding was floral inspired since it was being held at a park in Anne Arundel County, MD. One of the colors was fuchsia and the floral inspiration was seen at every detail.
There was a burlap runner. And the table setting was lovely with hand rolled utensil and preserved flower centerpieces! Everyone received a pin for the special occasion.
The bride was lovely when she walked into the room. And Papa was so proud. The ceremony was supposed to be outside, but due to the rain we were brought in.. You would never be able to tell based on the smiles of the bride and everyone in the room.
My mother officiated the ceremony and it was very lovely. Short and sweet, but ever so special.
Lighting the unity candle.
Mom smiled with the happy couple.
And when they came back in after taking photos.. It was time to PAAARRTTAAAAYYY!
I had never heard their first dance song but it was perfect!
Enjoy a listen here!

Nothing much to see here, other than a lovely bride! I realized that this dress has turned into my 2010 wedding dress.. also seen here at the Edmonds-Black Wedding in March 2010
Mom and the Lovely Bride, Martha, were all smiles. It was a great day!

SATURDAY
I grabbed my new top, and my jeans that I cut from Hubby ... and I had a day full of errands. The day ended with eating crabs with one of my sorority sisters.

Loved the wedding decor. I am a fan of burlap. Still trying to get some burlap drapes made. The bride's necklace was beautiful. Framed her pretty face. I loved all the photos.
The bride look so lovely, and her gown is divine! You are looking quite dashing yourself in that stunning black/white dress. Love your hair down, too, lady. Super cute casual outfit, too. And can I say that I may try to steel some of Hubbs old jeans to do the same thing??!! Genious I tell you, genious :)
