Happy Birthday to ME!

Today is the big day.. MY BIRTHDAY!! Yeaaa..
ok, so birthdays at my house are a big deal. I guess my mother made me feel this way. First off for my birthday when I was younger, I always got $100 and a special dinner. When mom didnt have the money, she would cook me a special dinner and we would still get dressed in our finest outfits, and have a special dinner by candlelight in the kitchen. So I guess thats what started the big deal about birthdays.

As I have gotten older, usually I will go on vacation for my birthday, or do something really different. But this year, I decided to stay home, and lay low. Ofcourse I went to the salon to get a pedicure, I had my hair done last week, and then I got my eyebrows threaded, but really, I could have done all of that anyway. I just used the excuse of the birthday to make those activities special. I got a few really nice gifts, so that was cool. But I realized as I was driving home from dinner that .. I like vacations! and for my birthday, I need to be going someplace.. anyplace it could be near or far, but for my birthday, I need vacation memories.. So that settles that!

For dinner tonight, Hubby and I went to The Melting Pot. It was a nice place. The concept is that you cook your own food, fondue style at your table. But with all those fondue pots going, it was hot as hell in that place and very very humid.

Today's Birthday Outfit
Dress - LaneBryant
Ring - BFF gift from F21
Tights - JC Penny
Black Croc shoes - Giveaway Winner from Shoes Got Sole -CSN Stores

Hubby was looking sharp too. And he was excited that he picked this outfit. He even "asked" me to take his pic. Although, I chose these items from the store, he was able to put this outfit together. GO HUBBY!!!

Hubby's Outfit
Striped dress shirt - K&G
Brown and blue striped cardi - Old Navy
Brown khakis - Casual Male
Camel shoes - ??

Say Cheeese!

The best part about dinner was the dessert! It was soooo good! I told Hubby that the next time we can just come back for awesome drinks and dessert and skip the food altogether. Its just that the food was ok. It wasnt terrible, but you had to do to much work, for what seemed like small portions. (But we were full, so IDK.) Either way, the drinks were banging.. and the chocolate fondue for dessert was deeeeeelish!!!

This drink was called a Yin-Yang. It was soo good, and it has ice cream on top with shaved chocolate chips.. how'd they do that! mmm mmm mmmmmmm! yummy!

And last but not least, I am so thankful for being a giveaway winner! Thanks to Kim at The Closet of Kim for her giveaway, these are the shoes that I selected with my winnings! I did a review of them as well. But overall they are very comfortable. The sizing was a little big, but I loved them so much, I am going to add an insole and keep it moving! These were a perfect pair if shoes. I wish they came in more colors, and more fabric choices. Great shoe! Thanks again KIM!

I really love the shoes! And the Melting Pot has definitely gotten mixed reviews- I've never been, but I know several people who have. Anyway, Happy Birthday!

Happy belated birhday! You look stunning in your dress! I happen to love The Melting Pot (we don't have one locally so it's always a special treat to be able to go out of town) but my husband doesn't care for it at all. To each his own, I suppose!

Happy Birthday!! You and your husband both look wonderful. I agree on The Melting Pot - apps and dessert only! If you went to the one by the mall (TT) than you weren't far from me at all! I'm glad you had a good day and the shoes you picked out are fantastic.
