Cruise Vacation - April 2011 (pics heavy)

This vacation was a good balance of rest and relaxation along with fun times with family and friends.

SUNDAY - April 3:

We left Baltimore on Sunday for a wonderful cruise vacation. Hubby and I were all smiles when we boarded the ship and we were able to have a nice lunch on the Lido Deck!

 The girls and I had drinks by the pool.  Little Miss Taylor was excited about the pool and she would have stayed there all day.  The guys were busy at the arcade on the ship.

MONDAY - April 4

We spent the day on the ship. I slept and ate most of the day. But that was fine with me. For the evening, Hubby and I went to the Steak House for dinner. It was a lovely evening. We watched the sunset - very romantic. Hubby ate a huge steak, and I really enjoyed my dinner.

TUESDAY - April 5

Tuesday was another full day on the ship. I think I got dressed only for Bingo this day. But for the evening, we got dressed up for the Captain's Dinner.

WEDNESDAY - April 6 Our first stop was Port Canaveral, Florida. We chartered our own van and spent the day at Disney World. It was a lovely time. I am always amazed at how much I enjoy Disney.  They make you feel so special there.. definitely the "greatest place on earth"

 We had a glorious time. And Miss Taylor wanted to meet all of the characters in the park. She was very excited to meet The Princesses. And they were very nice to meet, indeed.

  

But the highlight ... was actually being able to meet Mickey and Minnie!!!

 Miss Taylor got autographs from everyone she could.. and then she bopped Mickey on the nose as she ran out the room ... hilarious! I had to laugh at that one.

 We rode the carousel.. yup, me too!

 And then we watched a 3-D/4-D movie... it was fun.. dont we look silly in those glasses? lol... and we finally got a pic of Big Bro - Little Garnet!

THURSDAY - April 7
We docked in Nassau, Bahamas. It was a cloudy day and there was even some rain when we first got off the ship. That wasnt to much fun.  But, we made the best of it. Hubby and I ventured to the Fish Fry which is an area of town where the locals dine.  We had the best lunch at Twin Brothers. They make the best smoothies in the WORLD.. yup, you read that correctly.. the world!!! After our lunch, we did a little window shopping in the downtown area. Then we went back to the ship, and relaxed near the adult pool. It was a nice day! definitely a change of pace from our previous day at Disney.

I had on my cute polka dot bathing suit under my dress, but I never even got to show it off.. to chilly for me to get in the water.  Dress is from Lane Bryant.

 FRIDAY - April 8
We docked in Freeport, Bahamas and it was a lovely day! We went to the Port Lucaya area with my friend Jamaica, her husband, Stan and thier son, Amir. Ofcourse on this lovely day, I decided not to wear my bathing suit. What was I thinking!!??? The day was beautiful.. hot, but beautiful. We went to the beach for a little while. The water was ice cold, and that made me feel a little better about not having my bathing suit.  Then I put my feet in the pool. Still cold, lol.  Then Hubby and I went to the Casino to get out of the heat.  We dropped a few pennies in the slots and at the tables.  We didnt win any big bucks, but it was still fun.  Then we went to the small shopping area, and window shopped a little more. After all of that, it was time to head back to the ship.  Friday was a short day at port. The ship left at 1:30p.  We all wished we had more time in Freeport. Mostly because it was such a nice day.

SATURDAY - April 9

We were on the ship for yet another full day.  I didnt do much other than buy a few things from the gift shop. I got the cutest charm for my charm bracelet.

The weather was really windy. And that evening we decided to have another dinner at the steakhouse with Cousin Nikki and Garnet.  Oh we had a blast!!! We have a similar sense of humor which made the dinner so much fun!

Truly, this was the funniest part of the entire trip.  Hubby ordered the cheese plate for dessert.. and it was filled with various "stinky" cheeses.  Well just look at the faces on these two - a picture is worth a thousand words ... HILARIOUS!!!!

Sunday - April 10
We docked in Baltimore about 8am or 9am ... we were back home by 11am!
