Atlantic City weekend (pics heavy)

SATURDAY
I spent an "unplanned" day with my grandfather (BayBay). It wasnt to bad and he loves any excuse to spend some time with me (and boss me around, lol). I took him to Kmart and he found a few things that he would like to buy when the weather gets warmer, so now I just have to let the rest of the family know his wishlist. I found a pair of shoes that I had to have right now, lol. I cant wait to show them to you. This outfit was nothing fancy. A repeat - but very practical for running errands and looking nice.
Saturday - errands with BayBay
dress - Ross
shoes - Payless
purse - Coach
.
SUNDAY
Yup, another mini-vacay. I told you when I started blogging that vacations are what I love to do. And I like to fit one in every few months. Although I must admit.. this has been a busy last few weekends.. and there is still atleast one more trip before the summer is over!
.
I drove to Philly to meet my girlfriend and off to Harrah's in Atlantic City, NJ we went. This is my travel outfit.

top - Kmart
skirt - Avenue
purse - Coach
Necklace - NY&Co
shoes - ??
.
We arrived at Harrah's and checked in. I WISH I had taken a pic of the checkin line. I had never seen a checkin line that was soo long an unorganized. As soon as we got the opportunity, we jumped at the chance to do the self-checkin. Fine with us! We even upgraded our room to the Waterview Tower.... awesome choice!!! and well worth the $25 upgrade fee.
.
When we got to the room, we tore our clothes off and jumped into our bathing suits. We did not want to waist anytime getting to the awesome pool that had lured us here in the first place. And this pool did not disappoint!!! WE LOOOOVED IT!!!

My little photos dont really do The Pool any justice. Yea its nice, but being in the experience was soo much better. The Pool is a dome covered pool with a pool in the middle, cabanas all around and smaller hot tubs sprinkled here and there. Ofcourse we took a few pool pics.

My friend Jamaica wearing a cute green J.Crew swimsuit.

Swimsuit - OldNavy
bronze flipflops - Avenue
pina colada - The Pool at Harrah's Atlantic City
.
We lounged by the pool and sipped pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris(sp?). They were playing some great tunes. Fun and hip.. but cool and mellow. It was such a nice experience. It was really like being someplace else. The temp at the pool was a constant 82 degrees.

The nightlife is pretty slow on a sunday, but we found something to do. After the pool we got dressed for the night.

dress - Old Navy
vest - LaneBryant
necklaces - Avenue
.
We had a little bite to eat (and more drinks) at Buddakan in The Pier Shops at Caesars. Kevin was our bartender and he was really nice. He made sure that our food was awesome.. and that we had the best drinks on the menu. We took this pic and he asked his coworker to "click a photo of this perfect oreo sandwich" lol

Jamaica is wearing the cutest dress that she got from H&M. It was on the sale rack and at a good deal which made the dress a serious "must buy"
.
We left Caesars and went to The Borgata. They have a new hotel called The WaterClub..very chic (cuz, clearly, thats how I roll, lol)
The WaterClub also has a roof top pool... but its not covered. On Sunday they have a chill spot called The Sunbar..Guess who was the DJ??? ... wait for it ... Solange Knowles. Yup, Beyonce's little sister. This is not a good pic, but she is looking at her phone in the pic behind me. Can you see her? lol

We left The Sunbar at The WaterClub and went into The Borgata to go to one of their clubs called MIXX. It was ok fun. Both places were free.. so that was pretty nice. Social Sundays!

We made our way back to our hotel and we had to drop a few coins into the slot machine. But I prefer the roulette wheel. They has electronic roulette and I got Jamaica hooked! She is off to Vegas next month, Im sure she will try out her new techniques and come home a winner, lol!

The electronic table games are easier to learn and they have a lower minimum bet about. Which is good when you are still learning. Dont want to loose to much while learning, so the electronics are great! I am still perfecting my blackjack game.. but I love blackjack and roulette.

.
MONDAY
Yup, we came on home. We got up and went to the pool for about an hour. Then we had a little breakfast in the hotel, and talked for about two hours. Then we drove past the outlet area, but we didnt do any shopping. We needed to get back and I wanted to save something for our next trip, lol. I remixed another look, my favorite new shrug (thanks again BFF)

dress - Ross
shrug - gift from BFF

I am definitely going back. I already told my sister that this would be a nice place to go for her birthday in October .. we gotta find the right weekend, when the rates are the best! Imma start looking tomorrow, lol.

Making Lemonade - White Wedding July 2010

Hubby and I traveled to Harrisburg, PA to attend the wedding of one of my sorority sisters. Look at that nicely wrapped gift in the back seat.... oh oh.. and that awsome hat.. I wonder who's gonna wear that, lol.

We stayed at the Harrisburg Hilton.

Travel Outfit
Brown skirt - JCPenny
tshirt - OldNavy
sunglasses - Coach
We grabbed a little lunch at Spice.

After lunch, we went back to the hotel to get dressed for the wedding. The weather was so wonderful and love was truly in the air.

Wedding Outfit
dress - Ashley Stewart
accessories - Lia Sophia
sunglasses - Coach
shoes (now in the giveaway bag) - Nordstrom

Hubby was looking rather dapper too. Ofcourse he owes it all to his stylist, lol. I love this hat on him. And the linen shirt is so crisp. He was looking good, smelling good, and feeling good (comfortable).
.
We sat with another of my sorority sisters and her new fiance.. Up next.. a wedding in NYC (or where ever they choose, but the Halls will be in the place to be, lol)

.
The wedding ceremony began and it was a dream. (ofcourse there were a few bridesmaids and some cute little children but thats alot of photos for one post. I think a pic of the bride and her daddy will do)

The minister mentioned in his prayer that this wedding is ordained by God. And it truly shows in this couple. They are a blessing to each other and a blessing to everyone that they meet. I have known the bride for some time since we went to college together, but after meeting the groom, I knew that she was in good hands. (And the bride's mother agreed, lol). This couple was destined to meet and I am so grateful that the stars aligned for them.

The groom's daughter was apart of the ceremony as well. She said her vows to the marriage. It was so cute.
.
The reception was splendid. Very elegant and chic with an add of whimsy. So the theme of the wedding was turning lemons into lemonade. This couple has weathered a few storms but their relationship has withstood it all. And their marriage will be even more powerful and wonderful together. We took a few flicks while the hors d'oeuvres were being served. And then we went in to have our meal.. and get the party started!!!

Ofcourse there were pics of my sorority sisters and I. We flicked it up, but again, waaay to many pics for one post. Just know that when we get together the laughs never stop. Now that we are starting to add husbands to the fun.. the laughs are even harder.. and funnier, lol.
.
They had the cutest candybar. The wedding colors were yellow and guava (like a pink).

I made the bride some sparkly flipflops to wear during the reception. She loved them!!!

And ofcourse we had to sing a sweetheart song to the groom! All of the husbands have to go through it.. and they get the most beautiful bouquet of yellow roses in the end. It was a very fitting ceremony to include the new husband into our circle. We really want him to know that she comes with alot of sisters, lol.

.
Sunday morning we had brunch with the happy couple.

Brunch Outfit
grey tank - Target
white tank - Old Navy
white skirt - LaneBryant

Raspberries was the location. And the ladies were looking so lovely. We had a blast at brunch talking about all the funny moments at the wedding.
