Vest Duo

Today's look is yet another vest. I had bought two when we went shopping for Valentine'sDay weekend. I think its pretty cute. The vest actually is grey with think pinstripes (next time, you'll get a closer look). And these jeans are from Avenue. But I really really think I bought a size to small. Although they look fine, they are a little tight..and waay to short for my liking (and I am a shortie at only 5'-3"). I definitely want another pair, but these might make it to the giveaway bag... aawwwlll, they are the perfect color. Ok, maybe I will keep them for now, and just wear them with flats. Speaking of flats, I really need to invest in a good pair of comfortable flats. But my problem with flats is that I have to make stipulations.. they cant be too flat (i need a small heel or my legs will really hurt by the end of the day), and they need to be comfortable, and not to tight on my feet (my little feet are a little wide, no arch), and not gap on the sides (which happens sometimes when you have flat feet, aaauugh!) ... see to many stipulations, rules and regulations for flats.. But here I am with a few differnt pair and I love none of them.. so today, I wore clogs, which was DEFINITELY the wrong choice, since the daggone pants are to short, I look like I am wearing "high water" pants, lol. So I wore fun socks..can you see them? Oh, and when I got to work,I changed how the pearls were worn, If I had a camera, I would add another pic, but my battery died last night.. so Hubby was using theSLR camera to take these pics.. but he was taking them with the remote.. he said he likes being able to sit back and just click the button, there is no pressure for him to have to get it right. I just set up the tripod and he can click away, lol

Anywho, this was a serious ramble.. Thanks to Yammering Muse, I dont feel to bad about it, lol! **wink wink**

Bare Legs to early

I was listening to the weather report which called for low 60s today.. So I didnt wear any tights or stockings.. BUT, what I never remember during this time of year is that I leave the house at 6:40am... its no where NEAR 60 whenI leave.. so my legs were freezing this morning. I have to try to remember this. But this time of year, I can never get it right.

Boots or NO Boots?
Tights or NO Tights?
Sweater or NO Sweater?

I decided to put on this little sweater dress that I got back in December or early January. I figured I better hurry up and wear it cuz the weather would be breaking soon, and Im not sure how comfortable I would be in a sweater dress when it really is 60+ degrees outside.
Today's Outfit
Red sweater dress - Macys (serious clearance)
Belt - FashionBug (I wish I had gotten a smaller size. It was cheap enough, I may throw this in the giveaway bag and go get a smaller one. If they still have them)
Necklace - Avon

Bracelet -??, maybe Miami
Shoes - Macys (Circa by Joan&David)

Up close and personal : I thought I would show a little love to my shoes. I feel so sexy when I wear these. But I dont wear them often, hmmm.. Im not even sure why. Maybe I dont really have all that much to wear with them. Hubby got me these shoes (and the ones I had on yesterday) a long time ago. Thanks Hubby!

Brown Betty

In honor of one of my birthday gifts, this is today's outfit. I mentioned that my sorority sister came to visit me from Philadelphia, and as my gift she brought me some cupcakes from one of my favorite places. In an area called Northern Liberties is a dessert boutique called Brown Betty. The cupcakes here are sooo good and she bought me all of my favorites ... lemon, pineapple and coconut. She also got me chocolate and red velvet, mmm mmm mmmmmmm!

Monday Errands

Not much to write today. I am off to the bank to deposit some money. For my birthday, I have saved every dollar bill with the letters of my name. (Hubby has really helped with this savings too). But there are letters on the dollar bills, so I save the bills with the letters in my name. I have saved about $400. woooo hooooo!!! Im gonna use this to pay for a few trips that I have planned this year.

After I go to the bank, I am off to visit my grandparents. Oh, and my sorority sister is getting married and she wanted me to go to the flower shop with her. But, we'll see!

Today's Outfit
Camel Jacket - LaneBryant
Grey striped shirt - Avenue
Shoes - grey pumas
Jeans - ??? (I really should have taken a pic from behind cuz, these jeans have a cute detail on the back, which matches the jacket.. )

Happy Birthday to ME!

Today is the big day.. MY BIRTHDAY!! Yeaaa..
ok, so birthdays at my house are a big deal. I guess my mother made me feel this way. First off for my birthday when I was younger, I always got $100 and a special dinner. When mom didnt have the money, she would cook me a special dinner and we would still get dressed in our finest outfits, and have a special dinner by candlelight in the kitchen. So I guess thats what started the big deal about birthdays.

As I have gotten older, usually I will go on vacation for my birthday, or do something really different. But this year, I decided to stay home, and lay low. Ofcourse I went to the salon to get a pedicure, I had my hair done last week, and then I got my eyebrows threaded, but really, I could have done all of that anyway. I just used the excuse of the birthday to make those activities special. I got a few really nice gifts, so that was cool. But I realized as I was driving home from dinner that .. I like vacations! and for my birthday, I need to be going someplace.. anyplace it could be near or far, but for my birthday, I need vacation memories.. So that settles that!

For dinner tonight, Hubby and I went to The Melting Pot. It was a nice place. The concept is that you cook your own food, fondue style at your table. But with all those fondue pots going, it was hot as hell in that place and very very humid.

Hubby was looking sharp too. And he was excited that he picked this outfit. He even "asked" me to take his pic. Although, I chose these items from the store, he was able to put this outfit together. GO HUBBY!!!

Say Cheeese!

The best part about dinner was the dessert! It was soooo good! I told Hubby that the next time we can just come back for awesome drinks and dessert and skip the food altogether. Its just that the food was ok. It wasnt terrible, but you had to do to much work, for what seemed like small portions. (But we were full, so IDK.) Either way, the drinks were banging.. and the chocolate fondue for dessert was deeeeeelish!!!

This drink was called a Yin-Yang. It was soo good, and it has ice cream on top with shaved chocolate chips.. how'd they do that! mmm mmm mmmmmmm! yummy!

And last but not least, I am so thankful for being a giveaway winner! Thanks to Kim at The Closet of Kim for her giveaway, these are the shoes that I selected with my winnings! I did a review of them as well. But overall they are very comfortable. The sizing was a little big, but I loved them so much, I am going to add an insole and keep it moving! These were a perfect pair if shoes. I wish they came in more colors, and more fabric choices. Great shoe! Thanks again KIM!

I had been looking for a pair of T-strap or ankle strap shoes. These were the perfect find. They are very comfortable, and very stylish. The heel height is comfortable. The price was reasonable and very affordable. The only drawback was that the shoes fit a little big. But I plan to add an insole and I should be fine. I love these shoes! I would love more colors!

Pre-Birthday Day and Nite

So I finally wore the "boyfriend look" And I think I like it so far. Hubby said these need to be called "husband jeans" The jeans it better than I expected, and better than the first time that I tried them on too. So I was pleased with this outfit. I wanted to wear a different pair of shoes. I just didnt have anything (i guess flats or boots) that was comfortable enough to wear while walking through the mall.

Saturday's Outfit
Blazer - LaneBryant outlet
Jeans - FashionBug
Mens underarmor tshirt - cousin's giveaway bag

The plan for saturday was to meet my cousin at the mall and do a little shopping. She wanted to get some makeup for an upcoming party. She wanted an easy makeup line that has an easy application. She has 3 kids, and the last one is only 6 months, so clearly she needs a makeup regimen that is fast and easy. She also suffers from some face discoloration around her chin, so she wanted a line that would really have good coverage for her problem areas.

These are the looks that both of us got from Nordstrom. My look is from the Trish McEvoy Cosmetics line and her look is from BobbiBrown Cosmetics.

Here are a few items that we got from our shopping day.
Cousin Kellie got the Bobbi Brown Essentials Foundation Stick (awesome!)
Trish McEvoy lipgloss in Irresistible Pink (so quuuuuute!) and the Trish McEvoy translucent powder (a perfect finish)
I got the Trish McEvoy eyebase essentials. (great as a eyeshadow or to be used as an eyebase.)

We also wanted to get
- Beauty Booster Cream Great as a makeup primer and has an excellent spf
- Beta Hydroxy Pads To be used to sloth off the dead skin but very nonabrasive

Later that day one of my line sisters came down to Bmore from Philly. We went to get our eyebrows threaded and then we got pedicures. Aaahhh, I needed that. I got purple fingernails and pink toenails. Painted toenails always make me smile. And I needed to get my feet done so bad!

That night we didnt have any place special to go, so we went to this little bar/lounge and the food was awesome! The place was a little empty, but they were playing music and the food and drinks were good, so thats all I needed to have fun!
