BFF earrings : Day 3

Yup, Im still smiling today because I have on my BFF's earrings.. but it wont last for long. We leave for Cancun at the weee-hours of the morning on Sunday (really Saturday nite), So I will have to pass them back then.. However, until then.. Imma wear these earrings. I have a cute outfit planned for them tonight and tomorrow, lol.

BFF earrings : Day 2

My BFF is really going to get me when she sees me..Cuz I am seriously rubbing it in about her leaving these earrings at my house (u like that post title, dont cha!, lol). But I agree with Beth's comment from yesterday.. "if they leave it at my house it is ALWAYS mine, until their next visit ..." I have to agree with that one.. lol

Mind Control : Left ... or ... Stolen

Last night my BFF came over and we laughed all evening as usual. I swear that chick is the funniest person that I know.. well anyway, before she left I said "Dont forget your earrings or I will be wearing them on the blog tomorrow." Oh she reminded.. "those are my favorite and only earrings, I wont be forgetting them." Well, guess whose earrings I have on today!!! HHAAAAHHHAAA.. YEAAAA!!! I got "mind control" over that chic. She "left" the earrings.. but then I "stole" them to wear today. And I will be wearing them until she comes to get them (or until I see her for our Cancun trip).

I think these are some of the cutest pair of gold earrings that I have seen in a long time. They are the perfect thickness, and they have a cute design on the edges that you cant really see in the pics below.

Weekend Recap

It doesnt happen often, but I actually liked most of the pics that I took this weekend.
SATURDAY
I went to a cookout. My friend that I am going to Cancun with had a cookout for her boyfriend. They have a mean cookout each year and the food is sooo good!! mm mm mmmm!

SUNDAY, was pretty rainy in Baltimore. I just chilled in the house and planned my day for today. I have a gazillion errands to run.

TODAY, and I got them all done. Except one.. and I still need to make some calls tomorrow, but for the most part. I had a really productive day. In today's fashion - I couldnt decide how I wanted to pull off this look. So I switched it up slightly a few times.. tell me what you think.

Quilt Exhibit - Fabric of Love by Henry G. Holmes

Today's OOTD isnt really anything new. I wore the same there here but this time I have on shorter leggins. Im not really sure how I can change up a long tunic, other than to switch the color of the tank and the color of the leggins. This time am wearing short black leggins. I have worn this look with long black and short white leggins too. Got any other ideas?

(I did get a new pair of shoes for this outfit, lol. I bought these to wear in Cancun.. so I thought I would give them a test run before the vacation. You know, break them in a little)

LAST NIGHT was a really exciting evening. I went to a Quilt Exhibit - Fabric of Love hosted by my father, Henry G. Holmes at The Patterson Theatre in Baltimore, MD.

I was so proud and excited to see his name on the marquee of the venue.

You were greeted in the entry foyer with quilts by Henry Holmes. He really makes a wonderful quilt. And its amazing to see how his techniques have changed over the years. These three are really nice. A great welcome to the exhibit.

The evolution of his quilting technique has included imaging his photos in thread. Each of these photos are threaded images. He started as a photographer, so that is still part of his passion. And he comes from a lineage of creative people - painters, singers, etc.

Here is Dad and I at the exhibit. You can see some of his work in the background. He has started doing quilt paintings. Its pretty awesome to see in person too.


Since this was the OpenHouse for the Fabric of Love Exhibit, we were honored to have Dad's friends, Bliss and Aishah doing live music (electric violin) and poetry. They were excellent at setting the ambiance for the event. It was a great night!

I think my camera is angled strange because it makes my legs look short. Well, my legs are short, but the camera angle is not straight ahead. Imma spend some time this weekend playing with my "angles" lol.
