Spring Capsule Wardrobe Challenge - Day 5 - Last Day - and RoundUP

Well today is the last day of the challenge and I think I am a little glad to see it go. I realized that I like variety. I noticed that there were a few other challengers who were getting tired of the same choices as well.

So for today's look, I wasnt sure if I wanted to wear the vest open or closed.

I wore the vest closed. I like the way that it pulls my waist in.

Here is a list of things I noticed or would change if I decide to do the challenge again:

1. leave that purse out as a accessory - I still forgot to add that into the pic for today. Oh, well, again that purse is for function not accessory.

2. choose a better color pallete - I think my colors were a little boring. I did have that lime cardi, but it didnt really add anything to the looks. To it was just blocks of color.

3. possibly not choose a striped shirt - I love my striped shirt, but i feel like I had to wear it to often which makes me not want to wear it.

4. I like random and possibility - I like the fact that I can change mind. Being apart of the challenge, I dont think my choices had enough variety. I kept feeling if I changed a look, it really was only a small variation of the other looks. Nothing really stood out as its own look.

So the next time, Will I do the challenge??.. maybe or maybe not. Im not sure. But it was fun! It was more fun to see the looks that everyone else came up with, because their stuff was waaaay better than mine. I think most of their looks were so varied from day to day. And the interesting thing is, I still have a few more looks that I could pull from this collection. I have to do a few errands over the weeked, so maybe I will add a few of those looks in for honorable mention. Who knows, now that I have a choice (rather than a goal), its different. I may actually want to wear more of these looks. .. But atleast, I am done, and I can say that I finished.

SCWC - Day 4

TaDaaaa.. Here is today's look. This was really supposed to be worn tomorrow, but I was reminded yesterday that I have a meeting with our senior managers tomorrow. I cant very well wear jeans to that meeeting. And then after work, my mother asked me to start off by birthday celebration weekend. She is taking me to a play over at a local college (Morgan University). And I guess jeans would not really be appropriate for that either.. So with all that, Im glad I switched it up!

I really cheated myself out of atleast one good accessory because that purse has still not made it into a pic yet. I will really try hard to remember tomorrow to take a pic with the purse. Oh, and I got my hair done (**cheeeese**).. I was so over the ponytail. But rest assured, it will be back, lol!

SCWC - Day 3

Okay, so today I realized that I cheated myself in this challenge. I really wanted to wear a different necklace.. OR add a bracelet.. But I chose that stupid purse.. and although I have worn it, I never seem to get it in the pic. I just forget. WHY, you might ask, because its not really apart of my accessory. I use a purse for function. Now dont get me wrong, I carry a mean bag all the time!!! but i dont change so its not really an add to my outfit. I used to change my bags waaaay more often. Then I started to buy quality leather bags (and spending a pretty penny more on them), and I just felt that each bag wasnt really getting their own rotation. So in a moment of closet cleaning, I trashed/dumped/gave away any bag that wasnt leather (with the exception of a few nonleather bags that i still use, mostly are evening bags). And at that moment, I decided that I would carrya bag for each season! and in that season, that bag would be fabulous! and really be a statement of its own... ok ok , now some of the statements are only in my mind.. but so far, I have really liked each bag that I carry.

I usually will change the bag around my birthday, which by the way is on Sunday (March 7). I dont really have any big plans this year except dinner ofcourse, and maybe a little shopping with my cousin (her birthday is today! .. gotta remember to call her .. and she wants to get some new makeup this weekend).

For the past few years (since I turned 30, I guess), I have purchased a new dress... and a new purse for my birthday. I did get the dress (although I am looking at another one), and I did get one purse (not sure that I want to make that my seasonal choice. Its the bag that I had on last friday.. but that bag is heavy as crap!!! and im not sure that I will enjoy wearing it, other than the fact that it looks nice, cuz it is really cute).

Dont mind that crazy pic above. I was trying to pull off one of those supermodel looks.. but it just came out pretty awkward... oh well.. ha haaaa

This little number is already purchased from LaneBryant. And its realy cute and even better, its comfortable too!

And this little number is from Talbots. This is the one that I am thinking of purchasing. I still cant decide on the color, but I am leaning toward the khaki.. although I luv luv loooove the green one!

Test on iPod touch

I was using my iPod touch and I saw that there is a blogger app. So I added it! And this is my first Entry using it... I may need to get an iPhone so I can actually take pics too... At any rate here are a few pics for your enjoyment.

SCWC - Day 2

Since tights are not included in the challenge, I sawpped my tights for this beautiful flower pin. This will be my accessory item, along with the earrings, necklace, belt and purse (which probably wasnt an accessory either, but oh well)
This is how I remixed today's look. Its funny, but when I got to work, five other coworkers had on green. And most of them had on lime green or a close shade of this color.

SCWC - Day 1

ha haaaa.. my hair looks like a comb-over. But really, its just in a ponytail. It looks funny to me. So this is my first outfit for the Spring Capsule Wardrobe Challenge. I kind of liked both pics, so I added them both.. Enjoy!

This is my collection for the Spring Capsule Wardrobe Challenge that is being hosted by The Small Fabric of My Life. I thought that I would have much more variety in my collection and more color, but I realized that I better stick with black. (not sure why I made this realization, but I went with it).
